Sorry for the delay....

I am having some problems getting my blog added to the search engines. The only way I know of to get to my blog is typing the web address directly into a browser. I don't know if I am not being added to the search engines because I don't link to any other websites or not. I will have to keep looking around and maybe add some links to see if this helps.

WOOT! New Best Score at Jones Disc Golf Course

I shot even today for the first time at Jones Disc Golf Course in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. My old previous best was +2 counting everything as par 3 of course including hole #17 which is about 780 feet or so.

WOOT!!!!

It rained again today, which was not good, but I decided to go play some disc golf anyway. Normally I meet with a group of coworkers on Monday nights to play disc golf. The weather did not look very good so I canceled the meeting. Then when I got off work, the weather had cleared up all the rain was to the South, so I went disc golfing by myself. I am always working on my disc golf throw and today I think I finally found a little something that will help improve my distance off he tee. I think all this time I have been playing I have only been rotating my upper body about half the angle I should be. What I mean is normally when I normally throw I only rotate about 45 degrees away from the target and let it rip. Well today, I was getting a full 90 degrees of rotation in trying to get a better pull back. While my disc was not really going much further, the disc did seem to get there quicker, which means I was throwing it with high velocity which will end up giving me more distance off the tee. Now all I need to do is get the timing down a little better and build up a couple more muscles. I noticed after disc golf today, my right shoulder was hurting a little and I was thinking, "My shoulder never hurts after playing a round", but then I remember some other people saying their shoulders hurt after playing and I think I stumbled onto something good. I hope this works out well, it would be really nice to throw a driver 325 to 350 feet off the tee as apposed to only 275 to 300 feet.

AdSense-Secrets: I am a little bit of a slacker, I have not read any of the book since Saturday, but I am still mulling over getting a website together.

Rain really sucks!!!

I woke up this morning and it had rained in the early morning hours. I could play disc golf in the wet weather but I decided just to chill for the day. I have pretty much done nothing but watch TV all day long.

Yesterday, I played disc golf in Hiawatha, IA. My wife came along with me just to get some walking in. It was a really nice day, mid 70s, partly cloudy, perfect, except for the wind..............wind and disc golf really don't mix. In addition to the wind, the Hiawatha disc golf park has very little in the way of wind breaks. I think my score was +6 or +7. I really don't know for sure.

AdSense-Secrets: I think a person really needs a website to fully exploit the power of Google AdSense. I have been looking at getting a domain name and web hosting services. There are so many to choose from. Also I am continuing to read the AdSense-Secrets book.

Swimming for disc golf disc

Today me and a friend of mine walked about half a mile of creek looking for disc golf disc. The water was a little chilly and the creek runs along 4 holes at Legion Disc Golf Course in Marion, Iowa. We thought there would be a good chance of finding quite a few disc since we had just had some heavy rain storms. Man were we wrong, we only found 2 disc. We were happy to find those though. Both disc were in perfect shape. I found a Red Innova Star Xcalibre which is a very over stable disc which I would think was thrown by a forehand thrower(flick). My friend found a tie-dyed Innova Pro Firebird which is also a very over stable disc. The Firebird had been in the water awhile I think it was almost completely covered with dirt and pebbles. My friend also found 3 disc the day before walking the same length of creek with is daughter. Not sure it this is going to be an ongoing thing for me as I have too many disc golf disc as it is but it would be nice to find some old beat up disc and trade them in and get some more disc I will actually use.

As far as AdSense is going, I have read the AdSense-Secrets book to page 91 and so far most of the book has been hype. The author has given a ton of information on how to tweak ads to make them look more appealing to people as well as where to put them on your website. I have a lot more reading to do so hopefully spending my time reading this book will pay off.

AdSense Secrets

So I have been looking through all these tools that Google offers with AdSense and website development, its a little overwhelming. In this searching for help, I stumbled across a book by Joel Comm called ADSENSE SECRETS 4 What Google Never Told You About Making Money with AdSense 4Th Edition. This was a free eBook which I was very happy to download. I just skimmed through the beginning of it and from what I can tell it looks pretty good. It seems that no matter which way you go about AdSense it is going to take some time and effort before you can start making any money at it.

I have decided to read through this book, 237 pages, to see if there is any good information in it and try to customize my blog or start a website to make some money.

So far I have registered my blog with Google. I tried to register my blog with Weblog.com but was unsuccessful. I have probably spent about 3 hours total of my time on this and so far I have gotten no where. I mean my blog cannot even be found by Google's search engine. I know it takes time to get crawled, but the only way to get to my blog right now is to type the url directly into the web browser. That's the main reason why I am taking a look at this book.

I didn't play disc golf today........I had to come home and mow the yard.................boooooo!!!

First Day of AdSense and first Disc Golf Report

So at Jones today I shot +6 which is not really that good or that bad. I think I am going to add some pictures of my group of friends playing disc golf as well as pictures of the courses. I think some pictures will spruce up the website.

Google AdSense news: My account was approved and the post before this one is one with ads that came straight from Google to be placed on my web page. Kinda cool. It will be really cool if I start making money from this. I am going to try and get some disc golf ads on this blog but I still have to figure that out.

I talked this AdSense thing over with my wife earlier and her first reaction was, "What are you thinking?", but after I told here everything I have done so far is free and it could make us some money, she was all for it.

Reason for this Blog

I am starting this blog to talk about disc golf and post ads for Google AdSense. I just stumbled upon the Google AdSense program today and I was thinking it looked too good to be true. So this is my first attempt at it.

Some other websites want you to pay them $1.99 to get a starter kit to help you set up Google AdSense. I didn't want to pay the $1.99 so I went directly to Google to find out how this program works. I am going to keep a record of what I do to set up Google Adsense and how much I get paid (if I get paid) right here on my blog.

From what I can tell, Google AdSense is not a get rich quick scheme, you basically become and employee of Google to place ads on your own website. I will be finding more out about his later I hope.

So far, I have set up this blog and that is it. I set up this blog because Google suggested it.
Next I will be creating a Google AdSense account and seeing what happens from there.

I will also be discussing some random disc golf stuff.
I will be playing disc golf today at Jones Park in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Jones is a nice park and I like playing disc golf there. I will be playing random doubles with a group of people and I will post my score later tonight or tomorrow.
